I usually start with drawings that I scan and layer into smooth vectors in Adobe Illustrator. Sometimes the process varies from that, but I don't want to do anything in digital that takes away from the completed work's handmade, hand-drawn lines.
Being a lover of books, I'll never really break from trying to tell a story. And now that graphic novels have moved out of just the sci-fi/comic book section, it seems like the only thing I read lately. But my ultimate love in visual art is the poster. The single-page print. So I'm constantly trying to find ways I can use print and digital to tell a story. In one shot.
